Workshops
As Dramaturgs we had the opportunity to go and run workshops with the dancers. We played games from their dances’ countries of origin and we also quizzed them on their knowledge of advent and the same countries as mentioned before.

This activity helped them to see the humanity and reality of the people they’re representing when they dance, hopefully helping them to feel a better understanding and connection to them.
The top three winners from each team picked out a candy of their choice!
Lobby Display
With the artistic director being from Denmark herself, she felt very passionate about our work as dramaturgs. She got really excited when we posed the idea of having a lobby display. I spent quite a lot of time working on finding Advent Wreathes that fit her description and standards. Then after we found those and ordered some candles Jeanette was gracious enough to let us use her own decorations from her home. She brought in little Nisse and Julehjerte and even her own advent wreath her mother in Denmark gave her as a gift and she now uses it with her family during Advent.

Next to many of these items we placed small note cards explaining the significance of each item relating to Danish Advent.

It was really awesome to see people stopping by looking at the little things and learning more about Scandinavian Advent and seeing real stuff from real people.
Program Writeup
As the Dramaturg I was able to participate in arranging and organizing the program for the production. I also provided a writeup for the program with the same title as the show, Rejoice. You can read this and may other writeups in my casebook as well as at https://4thwalldramaturgy.byu.edu/emma-rollins
